Awards

The Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition (SCWBEC) along with Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, are proud to be able to offer several award grants throughout the year. The SCWBEC raises money through corporate sponsorships, an annual Spring Women' s Business Event, and other events. A portion of the monies raised at that event and others throughout the year are given out in the form of either a:

  • $2,000 award to a woman business owner in Suffolk County who presents a Awish list@, and a business plan, and an essay on why she deserves this award in order to further grow her business.
Or
  • $2,000 award to a woman who has started her own business and will continue to grow her existing business, and either has graduated from Suffolk County Community College Corporate Training Center; or has taken a course from Suffolk Community College or Dowling College; or has received business counseling from the Small Business Development Center.
