SCWBEC CALENDAR OF EVENTS This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for either you or if you know of a woman in the Town of Brookhaven that is either looking for a job (or to change jobs). The Going Places Network by Walmart, is a program through Dress for Success® Brookhaven, it is free of charge to women who are seeking employment (or looking to change jobs). Through 9 weekly meetings:
you will learn how to present your personal “brand” in interviews
customize your résumé for different positions
navigate LinkedIn and other social media for job leads and much more.
You will also have the chance to work one-on-one with career coaches and build your personal network in a small, supportive
environment with other women.

The NYS Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators, Inc., the New York State Department of Economic Development - the MWBE and International Trade Divisions - will host its first international trade seminar: Access & Opportunities in International Markets during the 41st Annual NYS Association Black & Puerto Rican Legislative Conference. The seminar will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 10:00 am - 2:00 p.m. on the Observation Deck at Corning Tower, Empire State Plaza, Albany, New York.

The February 11, 2010 monthly SCWBEC meeting will be hosted by the Stony Brook Small Business Development Center at its new offices from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The topic will be How To Do Business With Stony Brook University. It will be followed by a workshop from 10:15 to 11:30 on Making the Most of Your Tradeshow Experience. Early registration discounts are available through March 15, 2010 for the SCWBEC Business Expo, Conference and Luncheon to be held April 12, 2010 at the Long Island Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.
