The Research & Education Fund of Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition is proud to offer its Linda Jasper/ Sally Ann Slacke Memorial Awards to an eligible woman business owner whose business qualifies her as the recipient. This award is made possible from a portion of the monies raised through the Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition events like the Annual Business Expo and its sponsors.
Awards are made twice a year. If you would like to apply for this award, please read the following instuctions carefully. The applicaiton must be completed in full and sent with all the requeted and supporting doucments as outlined. All such materials must be recieved by:
November 1st 2012
March 1st and 2013
The recipient of the award must also fit the definition of a WBE and adhere to all the following criteria:
- She alone, or together with one of more women, must own 51% interest of the business.
- She is involved with the day-to-day operations of the company.
- She plays a major role in the policy making for the company.
- Her business or residence is located in Suffolk County New York.
- The business is a “for profit” company.
- The applicant may not be a member of the R&EF of the SCWBEC.
Applicants must provide ALL the following requisites:
- A completed application.
- 2. An essay that describes how the award monies will be used and how it will impact your business. She will provide appropriate documentation to substantiate the request (i.e. proposals, estimates, invoices, etc.)
- A business plan with financials (i.e. cash flow, profit and loss statement).
- 4. Tax I.D. and /or business certificate.
- Any other pertinent documents.
